6 Days In

Students are getting settled in to their classes. We are working on getting their materials organized, creating procedures and routines to set them up for success, and doing MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing, among many other activities. For homework, students should be reading every night. Students should also have a book to read with them at all times. Students are expected to reach their Accelerated Reader scores each semester. I have not assigned any other math or science homework yet. You may see less homework this year, as we have the tutorial period which is meant to be a time to read and complete homework and get extra help. If you would like your child to have homework you can have them practice math facts or print out worksheets from https://www.math-drills.com/

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Donor's Choose Project. It was fully funded today, thanks to our generous donors and the Bill and Melinda Gates Matching Grant. Now we will have a lot of art supplies to use in the classroom. Yay!!
