We are completely done with SBAC testing. I am very proud of the students for their hard work!
Thank you! This year has flown by! I have really enjoyed each and every student this year. I want to say thank you to everyone for the cards, flowers, and gifts last week for teacher appreciation. I was very touched by the sweet messages. I will really miss this group. All of the teachers enjoyed an amazing lunch put on by our PTC. We appreciated it more than you could know. Thank you to those who helped with it. : )
As we approach the end of the semester, some students may have a few outstanding assignments. Please have them check parent portal so that there aren't any surprises. All assignments must be turned in by Friday, June 1st.
Food: The food consumption in my class has really gotten out of control. I am banning snacks in the classroom because of the mess that students are making in the classroom. I have been lenient in this regard because 6th graders are adjusting to not having a recess and I would allow 2nd period to have a quick snack as they came in to class to hold them over until lunch. I now have students bringing in gigantic bags of junk food and sharing with others. This is a nice idea, but it's not how snack time was meant to be used and it is quite disruptive, as well as messy. Students can eat their snack between periods and before and after school. There are a few students who play basketball during lunch time and then expect to eat lunch in the classroom after lunch. This is not allowed.
